The Foothill College outreach team did not have any marketing material that gave an overall summary of the college campus and services or degrees offered. We decided that a college viewbook would be the best way to reach new, potential students at outreach events.
Working with other marketing team members, we chose the topics that would be most important to students in the market for a college degree, such as degrees offered, financial aid, college history and statistics, and student testimonials.
Because these booklets are handed out at events like college fairs where they are competing with a large number of other colleges, I felt that the design should be bright, young, and use lots of different textures to stand out from the rest. I incorporated a number of "hand-made" touches, like doodles, paint strokes and highlighter marks to imitate a student's personal school notebook.
